
Soulslike games are characteristically very light on traditional cutscene storytelling, but it seems like Lords of the Fallen may lean a bit into a slightly more active narrative. Intercut with all the action are several voice lines and moments from story characters. Iron Maiden's "Fear of the Dark" fades in as the gameplay footage starts to roll, giving glimpses of some of the fearsome enemies, bosses, and environments players will encounter on their journey through the dark land of Mournstead. The trailer opens with a classically FromSoftware-like cinematic with extremely somber characters talking and moving very slowly. In a brand-new gameplay trailer Lords of the Fallen has finally revealed its release date of October 13.
